The Story behind the news…
First of all, some of you may know For Good Measure Inc. (FGM) as the operating company behind Spire Psychometrics. In fact, FGM was created in late 2023 when Spire become a company of two (Gregs) and the vision to create a testing company focused entirely upon the Canadian market was articulated. As part of that vision, FGM was incorporated in BC as a benefit company, one whose corporate responsibilities are not only financial, but social. Let’s face it: there’s a lot that companies can be doing to face the challenges of today, globally and locally. We want to be one of those companies.
We also realized that providing industry leading psychometrics is impossible without a platform. Spire has had an excellent partnership with Assessbank since 2019 and their team have allowed a small company like Spire to punch above its weight for years. It is extremely gratifying to formalize our partnership in this new arrangement and hopefully to elevate both Spire and Assessbank under the FGM umbrella.
And speaking of ‘elevation’, we’re excited to reveal the kind of company that FGM both aspires and intends to be, which I think can be encapsulated by the word flourishing. The first sense of this word is helping our clients and partners to realize their objectives in the fullest sense. We’re good at what we do, but we’re at our best when we help our clients create the solutions they want and need, or even only imagined. The second is how we run our company and treat ourselves and our employees. Our definition of success is as much about supporting our people to live the lives they want as much as it is about our EBITDA. Last, we commit to being part of the solution for our planet and our communities. We live in complicated times and feel strongly as a company about our obligation and ability take action and solve problems. We’re just getting started, but we’re proud to be a signatory for 1% for the Planet and committed supporters of the local food banks in each of our respective communities.
“Building a full-service assessment company that is owned and operated by Canadians for Canadians is a dream come true.“ said Greg Pope, MSc, co-founder of For Good Measure Inc. “This is a great opportunity to reflect our personal values within a company doing the work we love, for clients who are incredible to work with; it’s humbling and incredibly exciting. For Good Measure is here to stay and we are looking forward to providing industry-leading products and services to our clients.”
We’re also incredibly grateful to our clients and partners who’ve put their trust in our work and in our character. We’ve learned so much through you about what it means to flourish as a professional and know that technical ability and strong relationships, in good measure, will be our open secret to future success.
